Antonia Sharp, a young girl from Vitoria, Spain, mysteriously finds herself in the world of Aniquins - a half human, half animal race. Astonished and afraid, she is told that animal spirits from earth pass through a network of portals to eventually become the Aniquins. But the portals have closed, and their world is under attack from an evil, alien race, and their shadow beasts. Helped by the Aniquins, she discovers the medallion she wears, which is engraved with the shape of a star is, in fact, a powerful object of great magic, which has been hidden on earth until the time it would be needed. Writing on the back of the disc leads them to an ancient nursery rhyme which holds clues to how to stop the evil they are facing. Accepting her role as star-bearer, Antonia must first find a small, powerful crystal in the shape of a quarter moon which has also been hidden on earth, and the animal - a dog, who will bring it. The star and the moon are key to the Aniquin's survival, but where and how are they to be used? Time is running out, shadow beasts are hunting the star, and their warlord has found a way to destroy the Aniquins. A fantasy adventure to save a magical world.
