A silly twist on the classic tale. The school principal bakes a gingerbread cookie and brings it to school in his lunchbox. When the principal opens his lunchbox, the gingerbread kid winks and jumps off the desk. Where is he off to in such a hurry?

This is a great book to add to any collection of Gingerbread man stories. Students will enjoy seeing how the principal gets in on the action and the school setting will grab kids from the first page.

I am a kindergarten teacher who likes to compare different books in the same genre. This book is excellent and good for the advanced reader afterward. They want to read it again and again! You can use it to springboard other ideas for future books to written by the children in the Writing Workshop (the Writing Process for us old folks)! Enjoy and get one!

My kids loved seeing the principal, lunch ladies, gym coaches, and teachers chase a gingerbread kid around the school in this book. The story is entertaining (with some repeating phrases kids liked to say along with the book) and the ending was a good surprising twist. The illustrations are REALLY cute and appealing. This book's well worth the money.
