The newly wed Marquess of Southerton, better known as South, is an expert in all things fine, and that includes paintings. It is in part what gained him such an influential position at the Prince Regent's side. So when his sovereign arrives to consult him about a series of very expensive and rare pieces he wishes to acquire for his collection, South is obliged to attend, no matter how he loathes it. He is also tasked with choosing the frames that will best showcase this newest display of power.But, as South soon discovers, the paintings are not at all what they first seemed. They were forged. Between uncovering the source of the forgeries and dealing with his new wife's traumatic past, South is quickly caught up in a web of deceit, mystery, and a dark plot.Strange things are happening in the city.
