A circle of women, a spark of laughter, a story of strength.
The Giggle Tent is a tender and powerful story inspired by the real-life experiences of M tis women gathering in ceremony, laughter, and love. Set on the ancestral river lands of Batoche, Saskatchewan, this trilingual picture book (English, Michif, and French) honours the deep strength of sisterhood, storytelling, and community. With lyrical language and vibrant illustrations, it invites readers into a magical space where joy is medicine, sorrow is shared, and connection is everything. Created by M tis author Cindy Gaudet and illustrator Jennifer Brown, The Giggle Tent celebrates the spirit of kinship and resistance carried by generations of M tis women-reminding us all that healing begins in the circle, with our feet on the land and laughter in our hearts.
"Cindy has created a beautiful reflection of my experience in the giggle tent. This book is a heartfelt tribute to women who lift one another up. This book is a tender reminder that strength comes from a community and connection. Even in the hardest moments, a shared giggle can light the way."

"I pray that every woman, young and old, finds her giggle tent crew, a circle where laughter flows, tears are shared, healing happens, growth is nurtured, and strength is born. These connections protect and uphold our traditional roles within community, reminding us that to care for others, we must first care for ourselves."
