It has been over six months since anyone of Des Moines Iowa have died from mysterious causes. The lull in ghost activity has Sheriff Weeks worried. He knows it won't last. According to his dead partner more powerful ghosts are coming. Matt is also worried about his daughter Lauren. It is a big change starting a new high school in a different town.
Lauren becomes friends with a Gothic girl Rachel Stone. The students make fun of Rachel because everything on her body has to be black. Lauren feels sorry for Rachel, but she does not know her new friend is a demon ghost. Rachel kills the school's janitor and almost takes a bite out of Lauren's neck.
Lauren also becomes friends with the nerds of the high school. They help Lauren and her father dig into Maggie Blackstone's past. It seems Maggie had a very expensive porcelain doll collection before she was killed. Sheriff Weeks group uses the recreated doll to lure the powerful demon ghost to her demise.
