A revolutionary war rages on Combria, ignited by a decree to eradicate one of the three humanoid races inhabiting the planet. General PC Zane manages to usurp the throne of Gram Pillhigh but the deposed king escapes to one of several underground bomb shelters built a generation prior for such a contingency. From his subterranean tactical lair, he is able to conduct his counter offenses unhindered. Pillhigh has long been forcing a renown physicist and a team of scientists to create a new weapon that will ensure the defeat of the revolutionaries. Zane learns such a weapon exists after the prototype proves successful in a test. Now, the only hope he has of saving the persecuted race from complete annihilation is to capture the fallen king. But with his nemesis's location unknown, Zane must rely on an unlikely ally in order to stave off their extinction. Meanwhile treachery lurks in the shadows: members of the very race he is trying to save are plotting a revolution of their own. Zane must discover who he can really trust if he is to save Combria from tyranny.
