Lake Tahoe does not surrender its dead.A Nevada Research Institute exploration vessel is found on Lake Tahoe absent a helmsman. Investigators learn that graduate student Marcus Kieslar, was scheduled to be on the craft and is missing. His car remains in the harbor parking lot. Lacking any evidence of foul play, it is preliminarily concluded that he accidentally fell overboard. Two other 'accidents', one at a local ski resort and the other involving a laboratory carbon dioxide leak, nearly take the lives of Marcus's research advisors. The week prior, the two surviving atmospheric scientists, while examining particles collected on filters, discovered how life on earth first started. Despite efforts to keep their discovery secret, a popular local Church learns of their research. As the finding negates important Bible doctrine, events are set in motion to prevent the information from public dissemination. In addition to lethal actions against the scientists, efforts within the institute are taken to have the researchers' employment terminated.Against a backdrop of the spectacular snow packed Sierra Nevada Mountains, a fast-paced race ensues. The researchers must go public with their seminal discovery before being fired or succumb to 'accidental' murders.
