Book Overview

Michael Crichton meets Dan Brown in this novel of the" real" secret code hidden in human DNA. Nobel Prize--winning geneticist Joshua Ambergris has made an astounding discovery that will shake the foundations of science: He has discovered a coded text hidden in human DNA. Before Ambergris can change the course of history by announcing his incredible discovery, he is brutally murdered in his office at Triad Genomics, an international biotech company. Ambergris has left behind a labyrinthine series of clues that ultimately reveals the truth: " There is a message from a much earlier, more sophisticated human civilization encoded in the human genome " Who planted this code eons ago? And why? And can it be decoded before it's too late? Ambergris's protege, Christian Madison, and his assistant, Grace Nguyen, must follow the serpentine trail to uncover a global conspiracy of silence, secrecy, and murder that spans the breadth of human history. A shadowy group known only as the Order guards the ancient secret enciphered in the mythologies and architecture of Earth's oldest civilizations and encoded into the very fabric of human DNA. Ambergris's clues lead Madison and Nguyen through the mysteries of the Maya and ancient Egypt, the forgotten knowledge of Sumeria, and the enigmas of modern science. Pursued at every turn by Ambergris's killers, Madison and Nguyen race to uncover the secrets of the Genesis Code before the Order can carry out the final, sinister step of a genocidal plan. Driven by scientific fact and new interpretations of ancient writings, symbolism, and mythology culled from thousands of years of human history, " The Genesis Code" digs deeply into the questions of the" real" nature of the human DNA code."

Intelligent Action

If you're interrested in a fast-paced thriller, and like dealing with numbers, and science to solve the puzzle, then this is a good book for you. It is an easy, intelligent read, that might go over the head of some of the other reviewers. Its similar action to Digital Fortress: A Thriller by Dan Brown. A great first novel for a new author.

AWESOME

I LOVED this book! It's rare that a thriller provides such interesting concepts to ponder. This is a smart book chocked with exciting scenes. It's a marvelous read and I can't wait to take the next journey Christopher Forrest will provide for his readers.

It really makes you think..

Wonderful book. As events unfold, you begin to wonder "What if..." Gives you alot to think about as well as being a darned good story. This book kept me glued from start to finish, I never put it down. I am already anticipating a rumored sequel or second book by Mr. Forrest. And the ARG that started on the author's web page is thought provoking as well. I have learned quite a bit for the research done for the ARG. A must have for your leisure reading library.

Smart, exciting adventure

Just finished reading The Genesis Code, the debut novel by Christopher Forrest. Having read it cover to cover, it's definitely a page-turner. Full of adventure, but it's got smarts too - lots of Global Conspiracy stuff that draws on such diverse elements as the I-Ching, Mayan cosmology, and modern research into genetics and DNA coding. But it never gets too smart for its own good, so don't let the science intimidate you. Stands on its own as a great read - couple it with the online Alternative Reality Game (ARG) now in progress at www.thegenesiscode.com and you're in for some real excitement!
