Super heroes can be any age.

Katie Burns is a junior in high school, and she'd hardly call herself a super hero, but she is feeling weird and being emailed by an odd university program about having powers. It's nothing she can put her finger on, but definitely life changing. Having powers and being a Gamma have a cost.

Katie's dad and the university don't want her to know anything until she matures and gets older, but she finds out about neural energy surging from the older brother of her crush. A world of secrets, headaches, blackouts, and confusion put her and her friends in a dark place. Mind reading, mind control, mind erasing, telekinesis, and mood control are among the more interesting surging powers, and Katie believes she and some of her schoolmates surge.

Surging is mysterious and challenging. The villains seem too strong and coordinated, able to pull off murder, destroy people inside and out, and get away without anyone the wiser. With all odds against them, can Katie and her friends expose the truth and prevent future murder, or will they be offed by "suicide" and the nefarious plotters hiding behind their Gamma abilities?

This book was originally written as part of a Communication capstone project advocating collectivism, unity, emotional support, and the importance of well working positive systems. There's also drugs, sex, and rock n roll. It's a wild ride. Open up and enjoy
