This volume features approximately 320 images focusing on diverse aspects of Monterrey, Mexico--an influential border city known as a major industrial and business hub--as well as other municipalities in the northeastern state of Nuevo Le n. The publication presents photographic work by Aristeo Jim nez, Yvonne Venegas, Oswaldo Ru z, Alejandro Cartagena, the Est tica Unisex collective (Lorena Estrada and Futuro Moncada), Loreto Villarreal, Stefan Ruiz, Ruth Rodr guez, Salom Fuentes, Sof a Ayarzagoitia and Juan Rodrigo Llaguno. These artists explore themes such as urban growth, labor culture and the everyday lives of various social groups. Most of the artists are originally from Nuevo Le n or have addressed issues in their careers that concern the region, but these issues are not exclusive to a single geographic point; rather, they are conditions shared with localities across Latin America.
