Not a Simple Activity Book

This is not a simple activity book. The Friendly Classroom for a Small Planet: A Handbook on Creative Approaches to Living and Problem Solving for Children is a practical, reality based handbook for teachers that considers the child's learning environment as a whole: the physical, emotional and academic aspects of the classroom. Affirmation, cooperation, communication and conflict resolution are key components of the friendly classroom. Another important difference between this and similar books is the authors' approach to understanding the roots of violence, "not merely the symptoms." These roots lie in our culture. I highly recommend this book for teachers.
