The French UFO Wave of 1954

Autumn 1954 saw the first major full-scale wave of UFO sightings outside of the United States. It occured in France, with a bewildered public trying to make sense of practically daily newspaper reports of flying saucers and other strange phenomenon - including little hairy beings and a residue called "angel hair" which was said to be left behind after UFO incidents. In addition, there were numerous instances of vehicle engines stalling when in close proximity to these strange objects - a phenomenon that began in France but which would soon be experienced in America and across the globe. Graeme Rendall is better known for his critically-acclaimed series of books about pilot and aircrew encounters with UFOs during the late 1940s and early 1950s, together with arguably the most intense examination of the World War Two phenomenon known as the Foo Fighters, at least as experienced in Europe - "UFOs Before Roswell". He has written this book in the style of others he read back in the 1970s, where emphasis was on the information at the expense of theorising about the visitors' origin, motives and objectives. If you want a solid rundown on most of the cases that took place during the 1950 French UFO Wave, this is the book for you.
