Forest, a red fox who lives in the nearby woods, makes friends with a human boy named Woody. Woody leaves popcorn for Forest on a stump every afternoon. Forest visits Woody every day at 4 o'clock until one day he doesn't, or so Woody thinks. Woody is worried about his friend and goes off in search of Forest. Along the way, Woody meets and talks to some wild animals.
