Eddie Marsh has hosted Night Static, a late-night call-in show on WLST in Port Aubrey, Pennsylvania, for fifteen years - a lighthouse for truckers, widows, and insomniacs. One Friday at midnight he kills the seven-second delay live on air. The town's phones start ringing. And Eddie finds himself listening through fifty years of unanswered calls, living voices first and then the dead, down to the final voice on the line: his own.
