The Forgotten Story of Israel

By Dr. Robert E Grand

The Forgotten Story of Israel takes readers on a compelling biblical and historical journey through the origins and development of Israel, tracing the story from Abraham and the patriarchs through the nation of Israel, the rise of Second Temple Judaism, the ministry of Jesus Christ, the emergence of the Church, and the complex history that followed. Grounded in Scripture, informed by archaeology, ancient history, and leading biblical scholarship, this book carefully distinguishes between biblical Israel, Second Temple Judaism, rabbinic Judaism, and the modern State of Israel while addressing many of the historical and theological assumptions that have shaped Christian understanding for centuries. The Forgotten Story of Israel invites readers to rediscover the remarkable continuity of God's redemptive plan as it unfolds throughout history, demonstrating that the Bible tells one unified story centered on God's covenant faithfulness and ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Thoughtfully researched and written in an accessible pastoral style, this book equips pastors, students, and serious Bible readers to interpret Scripture within its historical context and to gain a deeper appreciation for the extraordinary tapestry of God's Word.
