An essential for any well-rounded collection.

A refreshingly written book on a subject that is all too often presented dry and uninspired. The Forgotten Monarchy of Scotland is a real page-turner that reminds me of JRR Tolkien except that it's actual history. HRH Prince Michael of Albany has not only helped me to understand my ancestors world but he has also provided a new perspective on current events, and filled in several gaps in history I had long sought to understand. My only problem with this book is that it left me wanting a deluxe edition and a sequel.

Incredible

This is the most interesting book I've read ever concerning the history of Scotland. It contains information that will just amaze you. Especially information such as how there are actual artifacts from the Knight's Templars here in the US which date well before Columbus. Some much new and interesting information that defies typical history--especially the Scotish history the English government from the time of King George I has manipulated. It reads very smooth and is hard to put down.

A nation in the making

I bought it, I read it and it conquered me. For the preview before this one, the fact do speak for themselves. Further, after a little research, I actually found out that other writers in previous years had actually come up with similar details of history (re landmass of Scotland being the first formed on this planet and the oldest hills being found in Perthshire). Anyway, that aside, the fact that the royal house of Stewart is alive and well is nothing new. People in Scotland have been aware of it for years. Latterly, Westminster tried to impose Anne Windsor as potential Queen of Scots and the outcry against the idea from grass roots Scotland was so strong that the idea was quietly abandoned. Further, letters pointing out that the Scots have their own monarchy (ie Prince Michael of Albany)were abundant. The Stewarts are back and obviously here to stay. Whatever one may think, Scotland will probably become independent by the year 2007 and the Stewart Prince will be King. A nation in the making with a great potential worldwide. For Scotland to be represented by its own constitutional royal house will be momentous for all, least of all the Scottish diaspora of 42 million people. Cannot wait for this event to take place.

excellent and well written book

Purchased this book to assist in family research and to gain more knowledge regarding scotland's kings. A 20 year gap was closed and reconfirmation of the lines that I have been researching. Would like to obtain more information on my family line especially since it was not on the side of the kings but on Sir Bonkill's generation.

Regardless of your conclusions, Scots: Read this book!

HRH Michael's book is a fascinating look at the historical differences between the Celtic Kingdom of the Scot's and the Hanoverian (English?) Crown in the south--it is also a penetrating and challenging look at the future. While his claims may make some angry, I refer you to his last chapters where he discusses the the neccessity and viability of an Independent and Royal Kingdom of Scots.He includes his draft Consitution in the (formidible) appendices. With one or two reservations, it may be one of the best consitutions ever written. This author disagrees with Article 47 (sorry, you'll have to read it!). If Scots people have the right to select and depose kings (and anciently, they do), then why restrict it to one blood line? If the line fails, what happens? There are also decendants of other lines--MacApline, Bruce, and others. Better to let the Privy Council, under suggestions from the Council of Barons and of Chiefs, to put forth candidates to be elected by the T! ! he Citizen's Estate. I could even opt for a "King for Life" with no right of succession by heirs.There is also a bit of a problem with the phrases "Scot's Gaelic" and "English" within the text. But this is not Michael's fault, and those who have partisen opinions should take into consideration that he taught himself English and Galic as fourth and fifth languages.On the whole, read this book! here are parts that you may want to take with a grain of salt--but that does not invalidate the work. If HRH Prince Michael of Albany is not who he claims to be--he should be! And I speak as a kinsman. For Scotland, read this book!Douglas Randall Stewart
