The Forgetful Squirrel

By Jeffrey Kinstler

Meet Zippy He is a bright, energetic little squirrel who loves gathering nuts with his mother. Acorns, walnuts, chestnuts-if it can be buried, Zippy is on the job. There's just one small problem: Zippy is quite forgetful.

He doesn't mean to lose track of his treasures, but his thoughts travel. One minute he's digging a hole, and the next, his mind flutters like a leaf in the wind. A cloud shaped like a dinosaur? Distracted A shiny pebble? Forgot all about the acorn

While the tidy field mice design perfect underground rooms and the organized chipmunks pack their cheeks to store everything in one single burrow, Zippy's scattered burying spots leave him in a quandary.

Beautifully illustrated by Brian Fitzgerald with vibrant, warm colors, The Forgetful Squirrel is a tale that celebrates the whimsical imagination of children. It gently reassures young readers that while staying focused can sometimes be hard, a creative and curious mind is good to have.
