The Forecasting Protocol - Volume V: The Business School Case Studies

By Vijay Jyotish

The Business School Case Studies is Volume V of The Forecasting Protocol: forty teaching cases in the business-school case method, for courses in risk management, decision analysis, public administration, insurance, procurement, corporate security, and professional military education.

Each case is built on a publicly dated, cryptographically sealed forecast - timestamped on the Bitcoin blockchain before its event and graded afterward in public, with hits, partials, and refusals retained - so the central document in every case is verifiable by students from their phones. Each case ends at its protagonist's decision point; outcomes, grades, and the record's own concessions are held in instructor teaching notes, and each case carries its own priced-but-unsigned Decision Package exhibit. Settings include the 2022 Xi Jinping coup rumor, the 2023 Wagner mutiny, the 2025 tariff shock, Hurricane Helene's election impact, the Gershkovich prisoner exchange, India's and Turkey's 2023-24 elections, the Russia sanctions architecture, maritime war-risk underwriting, and commercial spaceflight. Includes reproducible one-page decision templates and, in every teaching note, a standing question on AI-augmented decision support.

Free printable student handouts and the full templates pack are hosted at jyotishintelligence.com/cases. The companion PDF edition is permanently free; the record behind the cases is public and recomputable.
