The Flying Saucers: From Russia, From Another Planet or From God by Kenneth Goff examines the flying-saucer phenomenon through a combination of contemporary UFO reports, biblical prophecy, anti-Communism, and Christian eschatology. Goff surveys historical sightings and numerous military and civilian encounters, including the Kenneth Arnold sighting, the Mantell incident, UFO activity near atomic installations, and the 1952 Washington, D.C. sightings, accepting the reality of unexplained flying objects while questioning conventional explanations of their origin. He then turns to Ezekiel's vision of wheels and living creatures, biblical chariots of fire, angels, and signs in the heavens, arguing that at least some flying saucers are manifestations of the supernatural "battle chariots of God." Connecting these phenomena with Ezekiel's prophecy of Gog and Magog, Goff identifies Soviet Russia as an approaching end-times enemy and interprets contemporary events as preparation for a final conflict involving Russia, America, and divine intervention. He ultimately rejects the idea that flying saucers originate primarily from Russia or another planet, presenting them instead as signs of the last days and instruments associated with God's intervention at the Second Coming of Christ.
