The Flow of Ages is the fifth poetry collection by Paul H Simmons, his previous publications being: A Construction in Space (2013), The Look of Beauty (2015), A Valley to Traverse (2024) and Interpretations (2025).
The work comprises 50 poems, and the thoughts and ideas which give rise to them emanate from personal experiences and imagination. They are written in an original style, sometimes lyrical, and sometimes as a kind of prose poetry, and they dwell on subjective and universal themes with insight and sensitivity. The Flow of Ages seems to represent something different in the contemporary poetry field, without being over-obscure in its approach, and as such will be worth taking a look at.
