The Fixer

It was 1971 and Mike Birds career in the British Army and Belfast were squarely in the rear view mirror. His return to Manchester found him jobless and without direction until Rose, an old friend of the family and proprietor of an establishment of questionable repute, mentioned that a local dignitary was in search for someone trustworthy for Chauffer and Chaperone work. The night Mike dropped the MP off at the club his life changed in an instant and a whole new world of drugs, corruption and violence opened up in front of him. Though the ex soldier was in constant battle with his own demons he felt duty bound to help others battle theirs. A good man in a bad place, Mike would always strive to see the good in others, and knew better than most that everyone is broken to some degree. A natural problem solver, he would use his skills to help those he loved from situations that he didn't. There comes a point in everyone's life when they could do with a fixer.
