Insightful

John Young puts together an insightful perspective on leadership, based on his vast experience as a consultant in leadership development. Through his Paradigm for Profitability, he clearly places knowledge, respect, communication and relationships as pre-conditions for profitability. Touching on key though rarely discussed leadership dimensions such as a leader's desire to lead and a leader's ambition, John offers a fresh and tought provoking approach to the topic of leadership.

surprisingly good

This is a surprisingly good book. I stumbled across this one after the title and book jacket caught my eye. I read a lot of leadership books and thought this one looked different. I finished it over a transatlantic flight, couldn't put it down. I recommend this as a good relief from the typical jargon you find in many other leadership books. It is very down to earth, my favorite parts are the colorful experiences shared from the author's life growing up in Ireland, and the emphasis on Trust.
