The author of the Gospel of Luke was a historian and a physician. Although he never met Jesus face to face, he often met with eye witnesses of Jesus and those who were with Christ from the beginning. It is believed that Luke attained much of the information for his gospel from Jesus' mother, Mary. Many feel that the gospel of Luke is written from Mary's point of view. I believe this to be true. Nothing could be more beautiful than Luke's description of the birth of Christ. The details of His birth were said to have been kept in Mary's heart all those years. They come to life in a way that only a mother could speak of the night her savior was born. I will give the account in its entirety.
