When the animals get together in the jungle, they discover that the noise they have been making is indeed music. Celebrated author and master storyteller Dylan Pritchett, past president of the National Association of Black Storytellers, weaves a whimsical tale that helps us discover that we all have music inside just waiting to come out when the time is right. This original award-winning story is based on the model of traditional African folktales. The rich illustrations painted by Erin Banks, enhance Pritchett's lyrical prose.
Every child and elementry school teacher needs to have this book in their library.

This is the second book by illustrator, Erin Banks, that I have purchased and I continue to be amazed at her work. Ms. Banks' work has felicity and a unique form that gives depth and texture to the story. My oldest daughter, a first grade and pre-school teacher, has used Ms. Banks first book, A Patchwork Path, and this newest book to teach her students important lessons about family and working together. I can't wait till Ms. Banks next work is published. Quinn
