Deliverance Baptist Church is just like any other church...homecoming, revival, and Wednesday night Bible study are the staples. But when the pastor, Rev. Louis Martin becomes engulfed in scandal, the members of Deliverance get their opportunity to stand out from the rest. Pastor Martin is newly divorced and very vulnerable but he is convinced after meeting an exotic dancer named 'Cotton Candy' that the Lord has sent him to 'save' her from herself. However, it is the pastor who will need saving as Cotton Candy sashays her way into being the subject of his prayers and shimmy her way into being the object of his desires. The First Lady is an enlightening story of trial and redemption, but as far as the members of Deliverance Baptist Church are concerned, redemption is a long ways coming.
