In the year 2023, a young man by the name Mitch Rolands, agrees to take part in a top secret Military experiment in Langley, Virginia. Just as the experiment is starting, something goes terribly wrong and Mitch doesn't think he will survive. The experiment goes as planned with just one hiccup and Mitch is alive and well five years later, only to find the world outside crumbling around him. When Mitch learns there is more to the experiment than he was told about, he vows to find out the truth.

As the world suffers from a deadly virus, Beatrix Martin and Clive Anders travel to search for more people that have not perished from the outbreak. Beatrix and Clive save Mitch from a group of scavengers trying to take his life. Mitch is grateful to them for saving his life and becomes captivated with Beatrix. When Mitch confides in his saviors about his experience, they decided to help him find answers.

While following the small trail of breadcrumbs left for Mitch by Alex Reed, the head scientist of the experiment, Beatrix is abducted by the same group of scavenger's they had saved Mitch from. This time, there were more of them, and their fearless leader, Mason, wanted Beatrix for himself. Will Mitch and Clive be able to save Beatrix? Will they find Alex Reed and the answers the Mitch seeks
