"Tense, addictive and powered by an unforgettable narrative voice." - PAULA HAWKINS "A stunning debut...Suspenseful? You bet. Heart-rending? From beginning to end."--The Washington Post... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This was one of the best books I have ever read. I couldn't put it down!
Not what I normally read but I'm glad I did

I don't think I've ever related more to a character than child me relates to Chrissie.
This was a hard book to read. Not the fact of what she's done, but her reasons behind it. Even the ones she didn't let herself think about. I grew up just as lonely, and just as poor. So it was tough to see pretty much my childhood on paper from someone else's head. Even as an adult Chrissie struggles because she wants to do better for her own daughter and is afraid she's not doing better. I can relate to that too.
I think I held a lump in my throat the entire time I read this book. It's a pretty heavy read, even for Psychological Fiction. But it's worth every minute spent reading it.
My Opinion

Well written. Interesting character piece.
Disturbing and sad. But with a glimmer of hope.
I really enjoyed it.
