Super Hot Passion...Leaves You Breathless To The End!

This is by far one of the better books I have read by Elizabeth Lowell. Logan Garrett wanted revenge against Mary Sue Sheridan, for leaving his beloved older brother for another man, and driving him to drink himself to death. After winning the Sheridan Ranch in a poker game, he carries things further by subjecting Mary Sue's daughter, Dawn, to his cruelty. Logan slowly begins to realize that Dawn only looks like her Mother, but doesn't act like her. It still doesn't stop him from ditrusting her, and he forces her to become his mistress. Hoping that she can find a way to make Logan stop living in the past, she throws away her pride for the Love she can't help but feel and agrees to his demands. Lowell has taken passion a step further in this book. The Love scenes that would start out almost violent would end in a tenderness, that left you turning the pages quickly. Dawn is a stronged willed person who took alot of abuse from a man she brought to his knees in the end. Awesome Read!
An oldie, but a goodie!

Logan Garrett didn't believe in love. He believed in revenge. Dawn Sheridan's beautiful, calculating mother had destroyed Logan's older brother, and Logan had sworn vengeance. When he won the Sheridan ranch in a poker game, he should have been satisfied--but he wasn't. Dawn, who resembled her mother so closely, was the perfect target for his anger. Yet Logan found that in hurting her, he came away wounded.Dawn understood what Logan was afraid to admit--that what he wanted from her was love, not hatred. She gave him that love, risking everything to reach the gentle, caring man beneath his pain, knowing that if she lost, Logan would finally have the vengeance he sought.Dawn Sheridan is a gentle, caring girl who takes after her half Indian grandmother. She loves to weave beautiful creations. Making something out of nothing. Logan Garrett is a hard man who is too embittered by loss to have much left over for Dawn. More than anything, Dawn wants his love. More than anything, Logan wants to prove to himself, through cruelty, that Dawn is just like her mother Mary Sue. Destroying people that are more kind and decent than themselves.Once again, Elizabeth Lowell makes the characters come alive in this short, Silhouette novel. Well done, Lowell!
