The Final Curtain Call
by Rachel Mellor

On opening night at the Grand Marlowe Theatre, the show never even reaches the curtain.

Backstage, amid the chaos of costumes, whispered rumours and last-minute preparations, theatre manager Elara Quinn discovers director Victor Hale dead beside the costume room. A threatening note has already appeared. A mysterious key lies beside the body. And when the fire alarm sends the audience into panic, someone uses the confusion to cover their tracks.

But this is no straightforward murder.

As Elara begins to piece together what happened, she uncovers altered records, planted evidence, hidden passages and secrets the theatre has kept buried for years. The deeper she digs, the more the clues seem to point towards the people closest to her - and towards a long-forgotten tragedy involving Daniel Price that someone will do anything to keep hidden.

With a determined detective watching her every move and the killer manipulating the evidence from the shadows, Elara must work out who is telling the truth before the final curtain falls.

Because at the Grand Marlowe, everyone has a secret.

And someone is prepared to kill to keep theirs.
