Good reading

I have enjoyed all the Tim Green books I have read. This book was purchased for a niece who likes mysteries and is stationed in Afghanistan. I think she will like it as much as I did.

Revenge and Redemption on Angel Wings

In the Fifth Angel, Green does a magnificent job in putting together a novel of suspenseful intrigue. A good vs. evil theme coupled with the ultimate moral dilemma of just who within our society deserves to live and who deserves to die establishes a magnetic like tension for the reader. Enter protagonist lawyer Jack Ruskin with deep seated anger and revenge on his mind. Out on his personal mission of avenging the emotional loss of a daughter who was raped as a child and is spending her days, heavily medicated, in an asylum. His goal: to rid the world of convicted pedofiles who he is convinced cannot be rehabilitated and if given the chance will continue to commit crimes against children. Green's gift as a writer is in his use of descriptive language reminiscent of Steinbeck. At the same time he is able to tell a story that captivates and brings forth emotional responses from the reader. The meaning of the book's title is revealed within the text and adds a spiritual like quality to the protagonist's actions. Jack Ruskin's path of revenge and final redemption makes for high reader satisfaction. A must read for anyone who enjoys the legal thriller with unexpected twists and turns along the way. The Fifth Angel a winner from start to finish!

When do you cross the line?

This story is about a man intent on getting revenge for his daughter who is kidnapped and tortured by a rapist. Jack Ruskin crosses the line when he goes after serial rapists when the man that abused his daughter is given a short sentence due to a legal technicality despite the horror of his crime. What starts out as a father righting a wrong quickly crosses over to a man who can't stop himself from becoming an avenging angel and killing sex perverts, one at a time. On his trail is Amanda Lee, an FBI agent who loses her partner while trying to apprehend a sex offender. She hesitates a minute too long before shooting the criminal and that is enough time for him to kill her partner before he dies. His partner in crime escapes during the chaos. After this fiasco, Amanda is assigned to track down Jack Ruskin, an assignment that she does not want but due to "bureaucracy", has no choice but to accept. Teaming up with a renegade cop who thinks he is Dirty Harry, Amanda starts hunting Jack. The whole story comes to a climax when the criminal who escaped while Amanda killed his partner decides to go after Amanda's children for revenge. Now Amanda has to decide what is really important, following the law or protecting her children? Will she go after Jack Ruskin who is killing sex offenders when one of these criminal is after her own flesh and blood? The author makes you ponder on the question, "Is it right to take the law into your own hands and kill when someone you love is hurt or in danger?" Read this book and draw your own conclusion.

A Thriller That Will Capture and Hold a Reader's Interest

In an enthralling tale that reflects today's headlines regarding missing children, author Tim Green has written a book sure to engage the interest of many readers. Here is a well-plotted story with many twists and turns sure to please readers of thrillers. The moral issue of killing is brought sharply into focus and certainly warrants a thoughtful response by the reader to such a question and premise. This story is loaded with attention-grabbing detail and locales that reverberate with authenticity and, ultimately, an ending that is pleasing in the completion of many of the complexities of the story. There are descriptions in this novel that are brutally graphic, but appropriate to the story being told. The Fifth Angel is not a read for the faint-hearted, but worthy of being read by anyone for the solid foundation on which the story is based and told.
