A worthy work by Coleman and Huyghe

For any serious researcher of mystery animals, "The Field Guide to Bigfoot, Yeti and Other Mystery Primates Worldwide" by Loren Coleman and Patrick Huyghe is a must for your personal resource library. Though some may disagree with the classifications that the creatures (in this case unknown hominids) are painstakingly broken down into, no one can deny the meticulous research that has gone into this work. This field guide is also the first properly published book to attempt to sort out all of the variations of appearance of these creatures that eyewitnesses worldwide have reported. "The Field Guide to Bigfoot, Yeti and Other Mystery Primates Worldwide" is a welcome addition to my cryptozoological resource collection.

Unknown primates?

Your book would be an excellent read based on the material I have scanned so far. I think you did a good job of organizing the available material in an orderly and systematic style. The exhaustive biographical entries on Ivan T. Sanderson (my favorite) and Bernard Heuvelmans and other notable cryptozoologists adds much to the encyclopedia of knowledge so much needed to counter criticisms of mainstream scientists. The many names of these cryptids around the world indicate a commonly seen phenomenon that is more than imagination and myth.

Facinating and provocative

Coleman and Huyghe have compiled a guide that is both facinating and provocative. Just to consider the possibility of the existence of such "legendary" creatures is extraordinary in itself, and organizing such reports and evidence gives such stories a workable framework from which to study them. The authors frankly admit that this is far from being a comprehensive tome, but in this age of burgeoning technology it is indeed a pleasure to be reminded that there are some mysteries that man has yet to dissect and file away on some computer disc. I salute Coleman and Huyghe for doing their part in keeping our dreams alive.

INDISPENSABLE

Loren Coleman is a time-tested, well respected cryptozoological scholar. He and Patrick Huyghe have assembled information in this field guide absolutely essential to anyone taking this subject seriously. The close-minded "skeptic" press will condemn it, of course, but that only adds to the book's credibility, since that group kvetches about the very topic. The Field Guide to Bigfoot, Yeti and Other Mystery Primates Worldwide provides a tremendous resource for open-minded and intelligent students of the elusive hairy things.
