great book! bad design

This is a great book! A lot of info on the Stratocaster, but the graphics and the layout is cheesy, I hope the next time A.R. Duchossoir puts out a revision, he actually hires a Graphic Designer to do the content the justice it deserves.

Awesome book on Strats!

This book is great. It has lots of detailed info on the Strats - models, finishes, serial numbers, colors, wiring etc. Great reference for info on this classic guitar!

Almost great...not quite there

This book is very detailed in the history of the Stratocaster and has some good historical information about Fender and CBS. Great detail for learning how to date a Stratocaster (especially for those novices looking to buy on Ebay). The information is chronologically presented and the text formatting is inconsistent. The b & w photos are printed poorly. This book is in serious need of an update (it references through Stratocasters manufactured in 1993). There is also a purist approach to not consider Fender's 2nd line (the Squier Brand) which has (in some people's opinions), higher quality than what carried the Fender name (at least in the mid-80's). In the absence of a better publication, I highly recommend this book.

This book is very interesting

i'm from Brazil, and i have a brazilian Fender Stratocaster , made from Giannini, and this book help-me for bought my guitar, Fender is very good. sorry for my poor English

A great reference on Strats

This little book is one of the best references I have ever come across for the Stratocaster. It goes into a good level of detail regarding the history of this great guitar and how it has changed over time. I found the section on dating Strats especially useful. I have referenced the book quite a bit in describing what I wanted on my Custom Strat. The only drawbacks would be some of the formatting of the text (no biggie) and many of the b/w photos would be more effective in color. If you are a Fender fan and/or a gear-head, I would highly recommend this book and Duchossoir's Telecaster book.
