This paper will address the relationship between cinema and Chilean society from the 1970s to 2000, in order to delve into the conception of Chilean women. It will seek to analyse the representation of women in the national cinematographic discourse. To then problematise it with the feminist discourse of the last decades. To do this, four films will be studied in depth, "Julio comienza en Julio" (1979) by Silvio Caiozzi, "Sussi" (1988) by Gonzalo Justiniano, "El chacotero sentimental" (1999) by Cristi n Galaz and "Joven y alocada" (2012) by Marialy Rivas, in order to analyse the different representations given to women in terms of sexuality, and then analyse the changes and continuities that cinema has had in the representation of the female image.
