The Fatherhood of GOD

It has been discovered by research that majority of the children who are social misfits and involved in all sorts of immoral and social vices are children who did not have fathers at home to raise and train them.The word 'chastise' in the above scripture is the Greek word "paideia", which means tutelage, discipline, correction or training. Discipline in its self at the time being meted out looks difficult and unbearable. However, in the end proves to be a blessing. Discipline is a great blessing in every father-son-relationship. It is no exception with the relationship that exists between God and us. From time to time, our heavenly Father disciplines us. He loves us so much to deny us the blessing of chastisement or discipline. If earthly fathers discipline and correct their kids, it is only obvious that our perfect heavenly Father would discipline. However, the purpose of God's discipline is to help make us partakers of His holiness. Our heavenly Father's discipline makes us transformed and reformed to be able to share inHis holiness.
