Book Overview

A suburban drama about desperate mothers, secrets among neighbors, and the things women keep hidden. WHEN IT COMES TO THE TRUTH, YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT... From the outside, Essie's life looks idyllic: a loving husband, a beautiful house, and a nearby mother who dotes on her granddaughter. But few of Essie's friends know her secret shame: that in a moment of maternal despair, she once walked away from her newborn, who was asleep in her stroller...

I enjoyed this novel but there was a lot going on in such a small neighborhood. Every family has issues but these families had problems of a whole different level. Lies, deceit, and manipulation were all on the menu in this book. I appreciated how the author talked about postpartum depression in a real and sensitive way. This was a quick read and full of drama and I’d definitely be interested in this authors other books.
