A family affair...

Family man is a story about a strict father who help his governess school his children (1-boy & 1-girl) in the Birds and the Bees. Very explict book not for all readers.

A literate and fast-paced story

Here, we start off with a rather humorless man who had -- what sounds like -- a rather poor life. His only "excitement" was such that he could not even have a decent relationship ith his wife! In our story, we see how all of that changes... Not only do the children "grow up", the "Family Man" himself becomes far more "human" with his family and his mistress / governess. The only real surprise to me is that he does not end up marrying the woman! In any event, this is a rich story with lots of "scenes" but also lots of plot development (for this genre). I actually found this a pleasant surprise since I am really NOT "into" the fine art of whipping as a means of excitement. And, that is how the START of the story sounded. It was really nice to see how everyone moved beyond that to the point that instead of "whipping", there was spanking (much less violent / painful) with one interlude of VOLUNTARY whipping where the "victim" asks to be whipped. This is a fine example of a well-developed story line that should provide much enjoyment. The ending is a hoot with the introduction of a lecherous Chief Justice... and I do not want to spoil the story by giving any more away.

Light reading contemporary Victorian style erotica ....

For the reader that can not cope with the 'Anglicized' writings of true Victorian erotica where words such as 'fanny','cranny', 'tart', 'bonnett' etc bring a reader to a grinding halt, this book is written in contemporary US English.... Although the title says 'Family Man' the book really deals with the children of the 'Family Man', Faith, Clyde and the governess Elizabeth. The head of the household is a lawyer in London, who after the passing of his wife hires the governess to educate his two children to the ways of the world. Educate she does, and not being averse to light physical punishment this little happy group certainly does manage to 'get very very close' in a way that would certainly be frowned upon in today's society and mores. I must warn the reader that although I rate it as 5 stars it is certainly to be considered as VERY 'light' reading .....
