The idea behind this book arises from the observation that the quality of life in contemporary societies is profoundly shaped by the dynamics of money. Over time, the reading of current events has taken on a different perspective: no longer a succession of isolated news items, but a continuous flow of interconnected events.
A selection of news articles from major United States newspapers has been examined according to criteria of philosophical coherence and historical continuity. This approach has made it possible to identify interpretative lines that run through phenomena which may appear heterogeneous at first glance.
The contribution of philosophers, both ancient and modern, has provided a conceptual framework capable of illuminating the dynamics under examination. This essay is therefore conceived as a rigorous interpretative tool, intended to foster a refined and coherent understanding of what has been, what is, and what may become the trajectory of the human presence in the world.
