Another Excellent Book in the Series

This is the second book in the series. The 1st book was "The Extaordinary Adventures of Ordinary Boy: The Hero Revealed." By 8-year-old son is LOVING these books. They take place in Superopolis, where only super heroes live. Some of the super heroes have funny powers. For example, Melon Boy can spit watermelon seeds out of his mouth and Tadpole has an extremely long tongue. Plasma Girl can turn into liquid plasma. In this story there is a group of hippy supper heroes: Sky Diamond, Rainbow Rider, Aquarius, The Hammer, and Bliss. They don't like to work, so have started committing small crimes. The book also solves the mystery of what happened to Meteor Boy 25 years ago. My son likes realistic fiction that is funny. This book isn't completely realistic, as it is about superheroes, but is is funny.

Anything But Ordinary

I loved the first two books. I found them to be clever and full of fun. It was age appropriate but maintained an underlining political agenda for the older readers to pick up on. The books touched base on everything from family and friends relationships to growing up and expanding world views. I am excited for the thrid book.

Another winner

We're really enjoying this series. Once again, Ordinary Boy's brains save the day, with a little help from his friends. There's humor dry enough to make adults happy, and silly enough for kids to enjoy. The bit about time travel was a little tricky for my seven year old to understand, but it didn't detract from the story. We're looking forward to book 3.

Loved it!

My son loved the first book and waited eagerly for this one. He said it was even better than the first book and he's now eagerly waiting for book three.

Can't wait for the next one

My 9 year old son, husband, and I have enjoyed reading the first 2 Ordinary Boy books as before bed read aloud books. The humor is appropriate for elementary school kids and is amusing to adults. I highly recommend this book as a great way to get reluctant readers engrossed in a good-size chapter book. The chapters are not overly long and the action is fast paced. We can't wait for book 3 to come out!
