The Explanation of Behavior: A Control Theory of Everything is a broad theoretical framework aimed at explaining all behavior at all times. Dr. Guerreiro utilizes the scientific method (best illustrated in physics and chemistry) as a reference and platform on which to assemble and integrate nearly two centuries of psychological theory, observation, and research to finally explain behavior in a simple, parsimonious, and easy to comprehend model that defines, under one scope, personality theory, motivation, and relationships amongst organisms and nonliving objects.

Dr. Guerreiro's model is based on a set of seven principles (or truisms, as he calls them) that define the Universe which we are all part of. These seven universal principles establish the parameters for us to understand behavior in general from our own human perspective. According to Dr. Guerreiro's control theory of behavior, all behavior is connected through a flow of energy that does not have a beginning or an ending, like the links in a looping chain.

This book is written in a conversational yet authoritative tone that reflects the author's pondering, evolution, and maturation of his thoughts and ideas over a period of three decades. Throughout the text, Dr. Guerreiro uses humor, satire, and anecdotes extracted from his own clinical experience and news events to illustrate and draw parallels between his ideas and the many unresolved socio-political problems of our day.
