Helpful and detailed

I used this book, along with two others (Knitting Basics and Kids Knitting) to teach myself to knit at age 25. I learned entirely from books. I used bits and pieces of each book, kind of cross referencing them against each other when something was confusing to me. This was a helpful piece of the puzzle but (FOR ME) would not have stood up alone. One thing about this book, though, is the extensive section of stitch patterns it has (seed stitch, basketweave, along with some obscure ones). Good book though. My suggestion: go to bookstore or library and look at the extensive collection of knitting books...find one that appeals to your learning style (ie. do you need a lot of pictures?)

I am new at this and the book was very very helpful. I don't have anyone to show me and the little book has some pretty good illustrations for it's size.
