Nobody ever liked it when exciting things didn't happen on Baxter Street. A peaceful little village with a quiet little street. If only things were different today. It didn't take a genius to realize that the Brenner yard was the source of all the sawing and hammering. Children were attempting to get a good view from all over the area. Michael Brenner guarded the entrance like a warrior poised for a fight because his older brother, Freddie, had given him strict instructions to keep everyone out.

Just before summer break, Freddie Brenner, who aspired to become the greatest architect in the world, was hard at work constructing a tree home that he hoped the community would never forget. A beautiful tree home, not just any old tree house. A tree house that would make the neighborhood kids green with envy.

Freddie and his best friend Ernie were up in the branches of a large oak tree, hard at setting the new tree house floor, while Michael was working hard to hold back the swarm of kids.
