This book will seek to answer four questions: Was the war necessary? Has progress been made? How long should we stay? And is there hope for the future? It will provide you with a broader sense of the history, religion, and culture, that one needs to understand the people of Iraq, but also, a much more optimistic view of what the future might hold for these people, than you generally read in the press or hear through the televison.
Excellent information regarding what is really occuring in Iraq. I believe the press should read and study this book. Mr Mayfield is a creditable primary source. If one is searching for the truth this is the book.
Everyone needs to read!

I really enjoyed this book. Not only does the author explore all aspects and viewpoints of the war in Iraq but gives a detailed analysis of the history of Iraq which is essential to understanding the current problems there now. This book is a must read for anyone who wishes to know the truth about the American position in Iraq or for those who simply want to know more about the Middle East. "Iraq Enigma" was one of the most enlightening books I have read in the past few years. Forget what you see in the news, this book contains the truth.
Excellent!

For those of us concerned citizens of the world this book represents an ideal exposure of the late US take over in Iraq. What is more the detailed analysis presented about the cultural background (idiosyncrasy) of the people of Babylon is truly astonishing. Mayfield not only, strongly, backed his research but also added the much needed put yourself in my shoes attitude that we all should have for each other as members of this beautiful world in order to understand why things happen the way they do.
