After King Amos of Montaine and the Septs established trading links with his new-found partner, Her Excellence Lian the Empress of the Zhong guo ren, she was quick to invite her new partners, both mundane and supernatural, to her palace at Jin Gong Dian. However, travel and trade were still a problem as there seemed to be a lack of the magickal portals which are so prevalent in the north and west. This hampered the free flow of trade goods. In addition, the Empress Lian and her people have a further difficulty to deal with....PIRATES! The seas and islands around her domains are inundated with the remains of the notorious Pirate Queen, Yu Shih. When she was defeated at the battle of Doranji in Najiva, she left behind a lot of pirates and ships who for years now have roamed the seas raiding and looting the fishermen and the settlements and generally just making life very difficult for the people. So much so, that in her father's reign, the pirates became almost accepted as a hazard much like the weather. The saving grace during this time is that the pirates themselves are very disunited and belligerent towards each other with many axes to grind and grudges to bear. If they had been a cohesive group, they might have been much more of a nuisance. However, now, with her new alliances and a burgeoning romance between her and King Amos, the Empress Lian has decided that enough is enough and enlists the help of her new found allies to defeat the pirate threat once and for all.
