The emotional well-being of people

As the pandemic spread, several studies have warned about the repercussions on the mental and emotional health of individuals and families. The project aims to explore the influence of consumption and artistic practice on the sense of health and well-being during the pandemic from the perspective of a sample of participants living in the Ecuadorian cities of Manta, Guayaquil and Quito during the first quarter of 2021. The paradigm proposed by the World Health Organization has been adopted as a state of physical, emotional and mental well-being. From this vision, it has been established that art, far from being part of productive leisure and from being an activity whose purpose is consumption in the market term, is a fundamental activity for obtaining a state of wellbeing. The project adopted a mixed methodology, understood as having greater freedom and mixing deductive and inductive logic. An exploratory scope and a non-experimental design were established. The variables (1) consumption and practice of art and (2) subjective wellbeing were assessed.
