Fourteen years ago, the town of Wolf Creek, Idaho was shaken to its core. A normally quiet and peaceful town stuck up in the tall pines of Idaho, a brutal murder occurred. A young man who was considered 'mentally slow' was blamed for the death, saying she had rebuffed his advances and he, in turn, killed her. That young man was named Jimmy Brody.

The judge hurried this case through trial and the young man was sentenced to twenty years in prison with no parole. All the while, the young man screamed his innocence but nobody would listen. Finally, when he found out his mother had died, without knowing of his true innocence, he escaped from prison and headed back to Wolf Creek. His intention was to kill the judge and the sheriff that had conspired to send him to prison in the first place.

When Jimmy confronted sheriff Emory, now retired, he didn't kill him. Instead something else happened. Jimmy listened. And out of that conversation a true friendship formed and the retired sheriff, the current sheriff, and Jimmy began working feverishly to prove Jimmy had never committed murder.

This led to an illegal trip into Mexico to kidnap and bring back to Idaho, the main suspect in the murder, plus their getting involved in additional crime investigations - all to prove one innocent man was truly innocent.
