The Emerald Tablet 101: a modern, practical guide, plain and simple

By Matthew Barnes

Book Overview

The mind-expanding wisdom of the Emerald Tablet - made plain and simple.

For centuries, the mysterious Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus has fascinated alchemists, philosophers, mystics, and spiritual seekers.

Its cryptic statements have traditionally been associated with alchemy - the mysterious transformation of base metals into gold.

But what if the gold was never really gold?

What if the transformation described by the Emerald Tablet was ultimately our own?

In The Emerald Tablet 101, Matthew Barnes explores the Tablet as a symbolic, step-by-step guide to something far greater than the transformation of lead into gold: the transformation and awakening of the human soul.

Its ancient words point toward a journey from the lower to the higher, from ignorance to understanding, from fragmentation to wholeness - from the ordinary human condition toward an awakened state of consciousness.

In the Christian Bible, Adam falls into a deep sleep. Yet nowhere does the Bible tell us that Adam awakens.

Perhaps that is the task left to us ... perhaps the great work of alchemy is not performed in a laboratory at all ... perhaps the lead is us, our current state of mind and being, and the gold is what we are capable of becoming.

The Emerald Tablet 101 takes the Tablet's cryptic wisdom and makes it accessible to the modern reader-without stripping away its mystery, symbolism, or spiritual power.

If you're drawn to Hermeticism, spiritual alchemy, ancient wisdom, mysticism, or the meaning behind "As Above, So Below," this book was written for you.
