The Electromotive Force Of Metals In Cyanide Solutions (1900)

By Samuel Benedict Christy

Book Overview

The Electromotive Force Of Metals In Cyanide Solutions is a scientific book written by Samuel Benedict Christy in 1900. The book discusses the electromotive force (EMF) of metals in cyanide solutions, which was a topic of great interest at the time due to the widespread use of cyanide in metallurgy. The book is divided into three main parts. The first part provides an introduction to the subject and discusses the theory of electrochemistry. The second part presents the results of experiments conducted by the author to determine the EMF of various metals in cyanide solutions. The third and final part of the book discusses the practical applications of the findings, including the use of cyanide in the extraction of gold and silver from ores.Overall, The Electromotive Force Of Metals In Cyanide Solutions is a valuable resource for scientists and engineers working in the field of metallurgy, as well as anyone interested in the history of electrochemistry and the use of cyanide in mining. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
