I read the author's first book, The Voyage of Patience Goodspeed, and was happy to hear that a sequel was coming out. I highly, highly recommend it. It's a thoroughly absorbing, funny tale combining distinctive characters and an unusual setting (a girl's school in Hawaii in the mid-1800s). The main character, Patience, is extremely likable and I'm sure would be appealing to any girl between the ages of about 9-13 or so. I read this in one sitting. A great read!
