Give the writer an edge. His work history and genuine concern for the reader target makes the plot supportable and forgivable. For the pleasure reader, an easy read, with plenty of characters to follow and for the purposeful reader, plenty of advocacy. A message about life, glorification of it's ideals, forgiving of faults common to man, protective of those ideas to a dangerous extreme, with the ideal life the primary goal , supported by the best role models, generous, loving and exceptional, not for love of vengeance, surprising at every turn of the page.

Ben Lattimore weaves a tale of love and desparation in a drug infested community. Lattimore's hero, Beckmire, is a dedicated police officer who crosses the line of right and wrong to rid his community of drugs and drug dealers. He enlists the support of a young charge to bring fear to the bad guys. Along the way he befriends a young girl, Rashida, and saves her from the horrors of the drug scene. He also finds love for himself with a community doctor who shares his concern about the fate of Rashida. This novel shares some insights to helping young people by reaching out to them and by doing so shows the reader that the rewards go both ways.
