Outstanding Production Economics Text

As a student of Dr. Beattie, I can honestly say that this book has his heart and soul poured into it. The man is an absolute treasure to the field of agricultural and resource economics and his teaching skill is second to none. Not surprisingly, you find those same qualities imbued in this text. While aged, it is nothing short of the best production economics text I have ever read. Reading it you almost feel as though you're in lecture with Beattie himself. The chapters are extremely well organized and you are guided through relevant, well explained and detailed examples, with more than enough detail (which I always found lacking in other texts). There are no missing steps and "after some algebra you get this result" gaps here, you will honestly get all the meat you were looking for in this book (probably more than you wanted, but that never hurts). Anyone interested in learning production economics is doing themselves a great disservice by not reading through this book. The graphs and practice questions, alone, are worth the meager purchase price compared to some other high priced texts. You cannot go wrong with this book and I highly recommend it to any student of economics. Beattie is the absolute master in this field and this is clearly evident on every page of the book. Learn from the best, buy this book and you won't be disappointed.
